Dan Houser, Rockstar’s co-founder, has provided a new interview discussing a much-anticipated game that was never released, this time focusing on Agent instead of Bully 2.
Houser gained attention for openly discussing his projects during his time at Rockstar after leaving the company in 2020 to establish his own studio, Absurd Ventures. He revealed that the decision to abandon Agent was not due to a shortage of staff, unlike Bully 2.

“We were involved in various interactions within an espionage game set in an open world, but it didn’t function effectively. The agent had approximately five distinct interactions,” stated Dan Houser, indicating his belief that the system was not successful.
Agent was first revealed in 2009, but there was no further information for a decade until the project was ultimately abandoned, according to Houser.
Sometimes I lie in bed pondering this, and I’ve realized that what makes certain stories great for movies doesn’t necessarily translate well to video games.
