The PlayStation 5 (PS5), released in 2020, is recognized for its large size, even in the slim version. Yet, the Not From Concentrate channel was able to create a more compact and energy-efficient version of the console compared to Sony’s previous releases.
The project named Redux by the PS5 channel aims to offer an improved and understated version of the table console. This latest endeavor, although not their initial one, stands out for being available to a wider audience.
Not From Concentrate’s official store offers the guides and materials required to make the mod at home for $10 (R$ 53.60). Nonetheless, creators of the project suggest that it is a complex process and may involve expensive components.
PS5 Redux is an upgraded iteration of the gaming system.
Redux, the creators of the PS5, utilized a 6-liter chassis with an aluminum finish to significantly decrease the size of Sony’s console. The cooling system is enhanced with an Alpenfohn Black Ridge cooler, although the heatpipes system remains the same as the original console.

Two 120 mm Noctua fans and three 60 mm exhaust fans are needed for optimal hardware performance. The video demonstrates the intricate process of dismantling components, requiring sound technical expertise.
The modification process, which includes replacing the PS5 power supply and manipulating internal cabling, should only be attempted by individuals with expertise, resources, and patience to handle potential issues if the hardware malfunctions.

The end product of PS5 Redux is a system that uses less power and runs cooler than the initial console. It also features 4TB of M.2 storage and a 500 W power supply to prevent sudden shutdowns seen in earlier versions.
