Atari recently started selling its latest gaming console, the Atari 2600+ Pac-Man Edition, in collaboration with Bandai Namco. This console features a vibrant yellow design and pays homage to the beloved Pac-Man character from the 1980s gaming era.
The new console includes a vibrant fort where Pac-Man is seen chasing points to eat, while being pursued by colorful ghosts. It also comes with a matching controller and a Pac-Man cartridge titled Double Feature 2-in-1.
The cartridge includes two games, Pac-Man in both the Atari 2600 version and the arcade-style version of the 7800.
Re-releasing old consoles with pre-installed retro games has become a frequent practice. The Atari 2600+ Pac-Man Edition stands out for its compatibility with original cartridges from the 2600 and 7800 editions.
Collectors and enthusiasts can use old cartridges in modern video game consoles, which offer HDMI output to the TV with two screen modes – at 4:3 or 16:9.

The new version of Atari 2900+ Pac-Man Edition has been available for purchase since October 31 at a retail price of US$ 169.99 (R$ 913.78). It is sold on Amazon, but additional import charges apply for shipments to Brazil.
The video game comes with a yellow controller, and Atari is also selling controllers separately for $40 (R$215), available on Amazon.
